Can’t live without – FMSphotoaday Day 27

Hello my Beauties,

hope your new week has started well and you are motivated & full of energy.

Today is Day 27 of the May Photo a Day Challenge and the topic is: “Can’t live without“.
27. Can’t live without: What would you rather not live without?

It’s one of those philosophical questions, where you get to decide whether you want to answer it the smart & “indispensable” way or from the beauty and lifestyle blogger (and simply a woman’s) point of view.
Guess what – we are on a beauty journey here, so here is my short photo answer to the question, what i can’t live without. 😉
hand cream collectionWell, those of you, who are following my blog from the beginning know exactly, what a hand cream addict i am.
I simply have to have at least one tube in each handbag, on my desk, in the bathroom, in my kitchen…i guess you get the picture.

I can’t live without my hand creams.

I love those Hand and Nails treatments, like the Clarins one which is incredibly moisturizing, but also those  nice chocolate or fruity smelling ones. 🙂
Did you notice, these tubes know exactly how important they are, they even wear their impressive mustaches! 😉

I like trying different kind of hand creams from everywhere in the world. So far a have a few bulgarian, german, american, russian, canadian and israeli ones. I bet there are more to come! 🙂

What kind of hand creams do you love the most & why?
What are you beauty products you can’t live without?

Tell me your secrets.
Until next time – stay beautiful!

FMSphotoaday – Day 22 ( Change ) Caudalie Vinosource

Hello my Beauties,

how is your week going so far?
Every Wednesday i feel like my weekly goals are half accomplished, but i still have half the way to go.
Does anyone know this weird feeling?

Well, today is Day 22 of the May Photo a Day Challenge and the topic is: “Change“.
What does change mean to you? Do you get excited about changes or are you rather someone who likes things to be “the same”?
22. Change: This can be a hard one, so put your thinking cap on. How can you show change in a photo?”

As i’m trying to keep this challenge at least a little beauty related, i will tell you about my latest skin care changes.
For the past months i have been using Avene products, which i mentioned in ♥ Avene Skin Care Travel Kit ♥ post before.

After trying some samples (and i always go for samples first, before buying a full size product) i got a moisturizer, a cleanser and a mask, which i enjoyed using quite a lot.
But last week i finished them all and really had to decide, whether to get same kit again or try something new from another brand.
And being an curious blogger, “of course” i went for something new.

These are the samples for my new skin care routine:
Caudalie Vinosource Creme Sorbet Hydratante: with Grape water, Camomile & Grape-seed Polyphenols
(moisturizing sorbet for sensitive skin).

Caudalie Vinosource Riche Creme velours Ultra-nourrissante: with Grape oil, Shea & Grape-seed Polyphenols
(intense moisture rescue cream for very dry skin).

Caudalie Vinosource Sérum S.O.S. Désaltérant: with Grape Water, Hyaluronic acid & Grape-seed Polyphenols
(s.o.s. thirst quenching serum for dehydrated skin).
Caudalie Vinosource face skincare lineBasically this is how i usually pick out my facial creams & co. I like rich intensive ones as my night cream, a serum to waken up my skin in the morning and some light moisturizer afterwards, that is getting absorbed fast, so i can apply my foundation.

I can’t wait to see whether my skin is happy or not after using these products and how well they all go together if used one after another. That’s going to be my “face project” for the next few weeks.
You can find more information about the brand and line on the Caudalie Natural Skin Care site.

Btw: when i got the samples today, i remembered a post from a few month’s ago, written by Kareen from the Ziba-Blog, where she talked about the Beauty Elixir & Moisturizing Cream and how i bookmarked that one for later.
(So Kareen, you can be proud of me, i finally managed to get some Caudalie face products as well.)

As i was saying, i heard quite a lot about the brand before, but mostly used their amazing Hand & Nail cream (with Grape-seed Polyphenols, Vinolevure®, Shea butter, Grape oil.)
Truth is, it’s very much comparable to the Ultra-Moisturising Hand Therapy hand cream line by Crabtree & Evelyn or the L’Occitane Karité hand cremes. Moisturizes perfectly, isn’t too greesy and if you don’t want a certain scent – that’s definitely one for your purse.

Have you tried any of these before? Which one is your favorite?
And what about this Caudalie Vinosource line? Any experience with that?

Until next time – stay beautiful.

♥ Cosmetics around the globe – H & B Dead Sea Minerals from Israel ♥

Hello my Beauties.

Happy weekend to all of you. Hope you’re relaxing & having fun.
If you read my blog for a while now, you might have noticed two main things. First one is my passion for new exotic beauty brands, that aren’t available in just every store and the second one – my love for hand creams.
I never leave the house without a hand cream in my bag. You never know, when you might need it.

After using this product for a long time, I’ve decided to share one of my very favorites with you, which stands for an exotic brand and a great hand cream in one.
It’s also going to be a part of my series: Cosmetics around the globe.
Let’s talk Treatment Hands & Nails Cream by Health & Beauty Dead Sea Minerals.

For a very long time millions of people from all over the world have come to the Dead Sea region to relax, enjoy its beauty and experience the healing and rejuvenating powers of its mud and waters. We also know about the powers of the minerals, which all have an extremely positive effect on our body. Like improving cell metabolism, helping the body absorb nourishment, and eliminating toxins. We are talking minerals, such as Calcium, that helps cleansing the pores, Magnesium – that’s a big help to our cell regeneration, Chloride – that balances our own body’s minerals ect.

What do we know about the brand Health & Beauty? It has been on the market since 1990. It produces cosmetics with Dead Sea minerals and vitamins. The product range goes from skin to face to hair care, for any kind of age and is also make without parabens.

I was lucky enough to get my hands on this Hands & Nails Cream.
Health & Beauty - Dead sea minerals Treatment Hands Nails Cream

I have to say, the very first thing that i notice about this hand cream, was the amazing smell of it.
I immediately knew what it was – Obliphica Oil (other names for it are Sallow Thorn and Sea Buckthorn) – since my mom used to make jam out of it, when i was a kid. And we all know those childhood smells are something that we keep with us like a little treasure.
So when I smelled this by opening the lid, i knew i would love the hand cream no matter what!

That’s what the brand claims:
One of the best hand creams for men and women alike has been created. A professional treatment cream with a rich, non-oily texture providing protection to the skin, hands and fingernails. It preserves the upper layer of skin tissue and forms a glove forming a protective layer which neutralizes the harmful effects of cleaning materials and exposure to UV rays. It includes Vitamins A and E and Dead Sea salt water minerals to strengthen the vitality of the skin. It smoothens and softens the hands and strengthens broken or chipped fingernails. It is enriched with Olive Oil, Aloe Vera, Camomile, Tea Tree Oil Extract (which is renowned for its effectiveness against fingernail fungus) and Evening Primrose Oil. It also includes UV filters to protect the skin of your hands. We recommend keeping a tube of this cream besides your bed, in your handbag and in the kitchen. This product is a must in every home.

Health & Beauty - Dead sea minerals hand nails creamThe texture of this hand cream is something between creamy and gel like, which is quite interesting. It absorbs incredibly fast into the skin and doesn’t leave any greasy film on my hands, which is a big plus if you have to continue typing or writing right after applying the cream.
The feeling over all is refreshing. The cuticula of my nails looks very neat and nursed. The moisture does stay on my hands for a long time and as i mentioned before, i really enjoy this light smell as well. I think, i’m a little addicted to the finish it leaves – so smooth and silky. Even in this cold time of the year, when everyone tend to have a dryer skin than usual, i personally don’t have to use any other heavy cream, since this one is so moisturising.

I will definitely be purchasing this products later again. It became my must have during 2012. If you get the chance to test this product, let me know what your impression of it was. I would love to hear from you & your experience.

If you are interested in more information about this brand, i found this little video on youtube, that you might want to watch:

♥ Essence 24h Hand Protection Balm – Gingerbread Chai Latte ♥

Hello my Beauties!

Have you noticed how fast time is flying? Only 11 day’s are left until Christmas is here. I hope you all are really enjoying the season.

It’s very cold and snowy here these days and i noticed how much more care my hands & nails need. The skin tend to be very dry, almost painful, if i forget to moisturize. (Yes, that happens sometimes even to a hand bald junkie as i am.) As we know windy winter can be a real enemy for your hands.
So no one going to be surprised by the fact, that i have a lot of different hand treatments all over my house and in every bag.

Today i want to talk about the recent pleasant & surprising discovery:
Essence 24h hand protection balm – Winter Edition 2012 in Gingerbread Chai Latte.

Essence 24h Hand Protection Balm Gingerbread Chai latte
Ohh sweet goodness…where do i start!?
Every winter Essence come up with a new holiday themed hand balm edition, which become quickly pretty popular.
The design is always very sweet & adorable, that talks to most girls hearts.
The two past limited winter editions i do remember very well. And i want to show you the pictures, that i found on Essence official page:
In 2010 the hand balm were inspired by winter tea’s, like rooibos tea & blackberry, white tea & grenadine, chai tea & mandarine, and became a must have for every tea & hand cream lover out there. I enjoyed white tea & grenadine the most, just because i’m such a fan of grenadine.
essence_handbalm_winter_edition_2010After such a success, Essence made a new round of adorable winter hand balms in 2011 and brought out the ” little bakery“ winter edition, such as raspberry chocolate cookie, strawberry cream cupcake, vanilla apple pie. It was raspberry chocolate cookie for me last year…do i have to say more?! 😀 I mean raspberry and chocolate cookie in one tube? I was sad, i didn’t get a backup…

The packaging was really sweet and you just see yourself opening the tube and smelling on it, don’t you?
Essence couldn’t go wrong with making another winter edition in 2012 and they decided to go for hot winter drinks, such as Caramel Hot Chocolate, Apple Cinnamon Punch and Gingerbread Chai Latte. I have to say i liked the scent of Gingerbread Chai Latte the most. Apple Cinnamon Punch smelled way too much like punch (alcohol), instead of just apple cinnamon. And the actual scent of Caramel Hot Chocolate was so light, i couldn’t almost smell anything, except maybe a little bit of caramel.
But Gingerbread Chai Latte turned out to be the perfect blend of exact those things that it claims to have. I mean nothing is better than a scent of  typical gingerbread and the warm spices of chai latte during december. Right?!
Essence 24h Hand Protection Balm gingerbread chai latteThe ingredients as actually the same as in the regular hand balm by Essence, which you can get all year around. It contains shea butter and coconut oil. It is not greasy, it just leaves a very soft film on your hands. And around 10 minutes later you only feel how soft your hands are. If your hands are usually very dry, you might need something heavier than this one, but over all it’s a nice every day hand treatment, which come in a handy 75ml /2.53fl.oz tube, that you can easily have in your purse with you.
The quality you get for the low price is quite good. So if you find this winter edition in your local drugstore, ive it at least a smell and tell me what you think.

Or what you can also do (since you managed it to read this whole post), is to leave one single comment under this blog post until monday 17. of december (11:59pm), telling me what’s your favorite scent for hand balms in winter is and what exactly you love about it. (The winner will be chosen via random.org)
That way you ge the chance to win a tube of Essence’s Gingerbread Chai Latte and as a little addition Gingerbread Spice (caffeine free herbal tea) by Celestial Seasonings.
The official page says:“Stepping into a cozy kitchen warmed by the spicy aroma of freshly baked gingerbread — what a wonderful way to thaw a frosty winter chill! This handcrafted blend is a nostalgic medley of ginger, cinnamon and other time-honored ingredients. Because it’s naturally caffeine free, you can indulge in this unmistakably merry tea any time!”

COSMETICS AROUND THE GLOBE – Bulgarian Rose

Hello Beauties.

I don’t know about you, but I’m a big fan and lover of great hand creams & hand products in general. My skin isn’t overly dry, but as we are getting closer to the chillier time of the year, I feel like talking about hand cream is totally appropriated.

While traveling around the globe, I find it pretty interesting getting to know the local favorites when it comes to cosmetics. And as my friends know about my love for all new & exciting, they tend to bring me little gifts from different counties. This time is was a little souvenir from Bulgaria, which i didn’t hesitate to try.

I’m talking about Bulgarian Hand cream & soap “ROSE”.

Bulgaria’s tradition of producing essential oils dates back to the 17th century and is a source of national pride for the country. The Bulgarian Rose is considered superior. Usually it is cultivated in organic rose gardens and the oil contains the essence of the actual plant Rosa Damascena.

The Cosmetic series is created on the base of entirely natural compounds with main ingredient the well-known rose-water and rose oil.

This is what the brand claims:

Active ingredients – hand cream: Natural Rose water, Rose oil, Silicon oil and Vitamin F. With intensive nourishing, soften and recovery action the Hand Cream “ROSE” is an effective protection for the skin against the harmful influence of the environment. The natural rose-water and rose oil soothes the inflammation of the cuticle. Vitamin F accelerates the regeneration of the cells. The silicon-film protect the skin against influence of the environment and loss of moisture. By regularly usage of the Hand Cream “ROSE” the skin becomes soft and elasticity.

Bulgarian Rose – cream soap with Rose Oil softens and soothes the skin. It’s delicate aroma gives you a feeling of freshness and relaxation. Bulgarian Rose Cream Soap with Rose Oil is a nice little way to say Thank You to your skin.

The packaging itself is simple, but very elegant at the same time and through the rose drawing you definitely get the vintage vibe. Obviously the next thing to notice about the hand cream is the rose aroma. It isn’t too strong, like some of the rose perfumes, so even if you aren’t the biggest fan of rose scent, you might still enjoy this one.
The texture is pretty thick in the beginning, but after rubbing it between your hands, it absorbs really quickly and doesn’t leave an oily feel, which is always a big plus, if you’re using it on the go or at work, where you have to touch your phone or keyboard.
Your cuticle & the skin feel soft and well taken care of.

After starting to use the soap, my bath became an instant mild rose garden. Makes me smile every time i enter the room.
It doesn’t dry out my hands and leaves them soft and clean, which was my number one request, after being disappointed by using different Lush soaps in the past.

So over all it is a really nice & useful souvenir from Bulgaria, that I keep happily using these days. And as it’s really easy to find their products online, I didn’t want to miss out on sharing the news with you.

Have you tried any rose oil products yet? If so, what’s your favorite? Share your secrets!
