Favorite beauty tool – FMSphotoaday Day 30

Hello my Beauties,

how is everyone doing??
Can you believe, that this challenge is about to end already? We almost made it through the whole month.
Those of you, who kept on going and blogged every day (raise your hands) – you can be very proud of yourself.
Hope it helped your motivation as much as it helped mine. 🙂

I think a challenge like this, where many different people participate, is an enormous motivation booster, since you can exchange your experience and get inspired by other people work at the same time.
I think i might be doing another challenge sometime later this years again. And then, i hope to see you all participating! 😉

So today is Day 30 of the May Photo a Day Challenge and the topic is: “Tool“.
30. Tool: A tool in the garage or something useful that helps you get through life. Perhaps in a cooking tool.
Find one and share it.

I’m going to talk about a tool, that i’m sure by now everyone out there, who loved makeup and all the innovations knows about.
This is my new beauty blender knock off, by Germany’s own drugstore brand Ebelin – “Professional Make Up Ei”.
Ebelin Professional Präzisions Make up EiLet’s admit it, it looks a lot like to original blender, doesn’t it?
I want to take a small step back and tell you who i actually learned the trick with the beauty blender from.
About 2 years ago i was still struggling with my foundation. Even that i was quite happy with the actual product, i couldn’t get the flawless result on my face. No matter what i did.

Applying foundation with a brush somehow always left stripes on my face – well it might have been me and not the brush, but anyways.
But when i saw a youtube video by my friend Michell, who showed how she used a blender and a simple sponge to get an even application on her face, that changed the whole makeup world for me.

In case you are not familiar with the wet sponge application, you might want to check out Michell’s video HERE.
By that time – remember it was over 2 years ago – we didn’t have any “beauty blender” here in Germany, so Michell was so nice to send me the one that is being sold in Ulta and oh heaven – it worked so fine!
I have to say though – a good big and dense drugstore sponge, usually triangle shape, work well too. The technic is still the same.

Now back to the “Professional Make Up Ei”. About 2 months ago Ebelin brought this “makeup egg” on the german market and the beauty community went wild over it. You could literally see all the german blog’s & youtube channels blow up.
I think the “makeup egg’s” were even sold out in the very first week.

The hopes and expectations were high for this product and i have to admit, i was not disappointed.
It’s a little bit bigger and pointier than the original Beauty blender and it’s also a little more dense, which is alright.
The “makeup egg” has a bigger surface to work with, especially the “bottom part”. It’s pretty elastic and literally jumps back after you squeeze it.

It also gains on volume when you wash it. I would say, it get’s almost at twice as big, but doesn’t lose it’s form after becoming dry again.
The actual application goes smoothly, it’s really easy to get an even coat of foundation using this “egg”.
I’m not sure if this one is going to last as long as the original Beauty blender, but i after 3 months or so it would definitely be justified to get a new one, since it only costs 2,45€.

I’m glad our drugstores are becoming more and more aware of the “quality trend” of tools, since a few years ago the brushes & other tools had a horrible quality and i had to get everything from a high-end store or the internet.

Have you used any kind of beauty blender before? What’s your experience with it?
And what’s your favorite beauty tool? Tell me your secrets.

Until next time – stay beautiful!

FMSphotoaday – Day 22 ( Change ) Caudalie Vinosource

Hello my Beauties,

how is your week going so far?
Every Wednesday i feel like my weekly goals are half accomplished, but i still have half the way to go.
Does anyone know this weird feeling?

Well, today is Day 22 of the May Photo a Day Challenge and the topic is: “Change“.
What does change mean to you? Do you get excited about changes or are you rather someone who likes things to be “the same”?
22. Change: This can be a hard one, so put your thinking cap on. How can you show change in a photo?”

As i’m trying to keep this challenge at least a little beauty related, i will tell you about my latest skin care changes.
For the past months i have been using Avene products, which i mentioned in ♥ Avene Skin Care Travel Kit ♥ post before.

After trying some samples (and i always go for samples first, before buying a full size product) i got a moisturizer, a cleanser and a mask, which i enjoyed using quite a lot.
But last week i finished them all and really had to decide, whether to get same kit again or try something new from another brand.
And being an curious blogger, “of course” i went for something new.

These are the samples for my new skin care routine:
Caudalie Vinosource Creme Sorbet Hydratante: with Grape water, Camomile & Grape-seed Polyphenols
(moisturizing sorbet for sensitive skin).

Caudalie Vinosource Riche Creme velours Ultra-nourrissante: with Grape oil, Shea & Grape-seed Polyphenols
(intense moisture rescue cream for very dry skin).

Caudalie Vinosource Sérum S.O.S. Désaltérant: with Grape Water, Hyaluronic acid & Grape-seed Polyphenols
(s.o.s. thirst quenching serum for dehydrated skin).
Caudalie Vinosource face skincare lineBasically this is how i usually pick out my facial creams & co. I like rich intensive ones as my night cream, a serum to waken up my skin in the morning and some light moisturizer afterwards, that is getting absorbed fast, so i can apply my foundation.

I can’t wait to see whether my skin is happy or not after using these products and how well they all go together if used one after another. That’s going to be my “face project” for the next few weeks.
You can find more information about the brand and line on the Caudalie Natural Skin Care site.

Btw: when i got the samples today, i remembered a post from a few month’s ago, written by Kareen from the Ziba-Blog, where she talked about the Beauty Elixir & Moisturizing Cream and how i bookmarked that one for later.
(So Kareen, you can be proud of me, i finally managed to get some Caudalie face products as well.)

As i was saying, i heard quite a lot about the brand before, but mostly used their amazing Hand & Nail cream (with Grape-seed Polyphenols, Vinolevure®, Shea butter, Grape oil.)
Truth is, it’s very much comparable to the Ultra-Moisturising Hand Therapy hand cream line by Crabtree & Evelyn or the L’Occitane Karité hand cremes. Moisturizes perfectly, isn’t too greesy and if you don’t want a certain scent – that’s definitely one for your purse.

Have you tried any of these before? Which one is your favorite?
And what about this Caudalie Vinosource line? Any experience with that?

Until next time – stay beautiful.

Write a Guest Blog

Hello my Beauties,

hope you are doing really well.
Today I’m just popping in to offer you a little sweet idea, that might be helpful and a lot of fun for all of us.

We all learned about sharing in our childhood, didn’t we?! And believe me, it all still applies to these days.

When i just started blogging, i was lucky enough to get tips and help from bloggers from all over the world, who didn’t mind to share their knowledge with me. And as part of giving back the favor, i would like to start a monthly “guest Blog” series, where one of you get the chance to write a whole post for Beauty expression by Luchessa.
Guest post invitation card
You can see this as an opportunity for your own blog growing experience.

I even created a guest blogging page for you to check out.
So if you are interested in writing a post about beauty, creative food, fun & useful finds, traveling & fashion, or any kind of interesting collaboration – just send me an email and we will discuss it. The only thing i’m asking back is to be my follower via WordPress or email. Thanks a lot. You will not regret it! 😉

Wishing you an amazingly creative day and hope to hear from you soon.
Until next time – stay beautiful!

♥ February News and Featured Posts ♥

Hello my Beauties,

so good to see you on my blog again.
As you might have noticed, i’ve been a little less active this month on here, which was mainly due to a very busy time schedule in my daily life. But let me tell you – i’ve missed you all very much!
Of course i was popping in and out as much as i could. The pleasant outcome was to be mentioned by a few very talented bloggers and twitter friends.
Some of the posts were really so unexpected and wonderful, that i really felt blessed to have found such amazing people in the blogger community.
If you don’t mind, i would love to share those news and featured posts with you. I hope you understand, that i’m not bragging, but simply being incredibly flattered and happy.

If you a steady follower of the beauty blogging community, you know for sure, that by the end of 2012, close to the holiday season, there have been hundreds of beauty giveaways happening. As i’m exactly as you are – a typical makeup loving girl, i entered a few of those held by bloggers i follow anyway. And so the magic happened and I was a lucky winner. But see for yourself.
(Ps: it’s going to be a long blog post, so you better grab your cup of tea, while reading it!)

I had entered the Goodbye 2012 Giveaway on:
Laura’s blog A scottish lass, that she was holding together with Georgina from Makeup Pixi3.a scottish lass and makeup-pixi3 giveaway winner Luchessa                                              (screen shots from Makeup-Pixi3)
Ok, can we stop for a moment and look at the number of total entries for that giveaway. I’m usually not someone, who easily win’s anything, but knowing that out of 12745 entries the winner was ME, is kind of incredible. And i’m not just saying that, i seriously mean it. When i got Laura’s tweet, it totally made my day. 🙂
Goodbye 2012 Giveaway winner tweet to LuchessaNow i just needed to create a blog button to provide it to Georgina for my free advertising. Well, as you know, i’m still a newbie to the blogging world and something like a blog button is nothing i ever made before. But luckily my amazing blogging buddy the Sweet Jelly Bean, who i’m going to mention later on, was so kind to lend me a helping hand.
And the next day my happy face was was shining, along other bloggers from Georgina’s side bar. 🙂

So while Laura sent me the beautiful Dior Grand Bal Makeup Palette, which should arrive this week (i might be doing a review on it, ones i get the chance to play with the palette for a little bit) – Georgina offered me a featured blog post along her other advertisers.

Featured blog post on Maku-Pixi3That was a very exciting moment for me. To see the whole blog post on Georgina’s skilled February Advertisers click HERE

Around the same time i became a sponsor for Cherryfashionblog and did a collaborative blog post with bloggers from around the world on Sweetjellybean.com – I told you about it HERE.
Nia from Cherryfashionblog featured me just yesterday in a lovely Gorgeous Advertisers post! She asked me a few questions about me and my blog beforehand. And what the result of it are, can be seen if you just click on the post name above. 🙂 Cherryfashion NiaThanks Nia from putting me into such a flattering light!

My Sweet Jelly Bean – Donah was a birthday girl this month, so i’ve decided to send her a few goodies, like a matte top coat, that we were talking about before. And of course i didn’t expect her to write anything about it, since it was not a swap or sponsoring, but just a birthday gift. But you know Donah – she totally did. I’m not going to mention, that i had tears in my eyes while reading her heart-warming words, you can see for yourself. 🙂

My favorite expression of this february is definitely going to be: “like two peas in a pod of all things beauty”!
Donah took so carefully these pictures of her ” Luchessa branded box”, that i just had to show it to you.Sweetjellybean.com
Donah also said, she meant to feature me & my blog over on site anyways, and this birthday box seemed to be a good occasion.
I’m very happy to have found such a lovely & dedicated friend in Donah. Take a look on the complete post HERE.

And now on to my latest adventure over at Nykki-talks-beauty.
Nykki is a smart and skilled beauty blogger from Arizona, who loves this community very much, which definitely shows in her dedication. She is always involved in group projects and useful blogging ideas and that’s one of the reasons, why her followers love her personality and her blog.
That is also why i’ve decided to become a sponsor for the upcoming month over on her page.
advertising nykki-talks-beauty.com by Luchessa(click on the picture to enlarge. screen shot taken from Nykki-talks.beauty.com + my Twitter)
One of the cool perks of being an advertiser on Nykki’s blog, was also a featured post about me & my blog. She decided to write a little intro herself (and what a nice intro it was!) and go for an unusual question, that i had to answer.
Luchessa featured on Nykki-talks-beauty
If you are interested in what my answer to this question was, you need to go over to Nykki’s
Five Things I’m Currently {Loving} and scroll down!! Believe me, you don’t want to miss that! At first that question seemed to be oh so easy, but when i started really thinking about it, i knew it wouldn’t be easy at all. 🙂

So as you can see, even if i haven’t been posting much myself during february, i was still somewhere very close.
I’m incredibly thankful for all the opportunities i have been given through all these great bloggers, the friendships and the new skills, that i’m gaining every day, by interacting with all of you! I guess, that’s what they call – a personal growth?!

Last but not least i would like to share some of the sweetest tweets of this and past month’s!
Luchessas favorite tweetsLuchessas favorite tweetsThanks for all your acceptance and recognition, my amazing fellow bloggers! That means a whole lot to me!

I hope you share my happiness and visit some of these bloggers to check their pages out.
Until next time – stay beautiful! 😉

♥ Being featured and becoming a sponsor in one week♥

Hello my Beauties.

I have to tell you, this has been an exciting week so far. Besides of being a little under the weather and incredibly busy, i was also lucky enough to get featured in one of my favorite beauty bloggers post.
Donah the SweetJellyBean, who you might have heard me raving about before, made a great collaborative article on bloggers favorite toners and called it:
“Favourite Facial Toners & Mists from Around the World” – a title straight to the point, if you ask me, since all the bloggers are from different corners of our planet, which made it even more fun!

Tonercollaboration1Collage courtesy of SweetJellyBean.

I participated with my blog post, that i did back in december 2012 about the Kiehl’s Açaí Damage-Protecting Toning Mist, which got a lot of attention.
Here is what Donah said about this collaborative blog post beforehand:

Hello Everyone! Today’s post is rather special! I’ve approached some of my favourite bloggers and invited them to share some of their best-kept secrets (well, not anymore!) in terms of staying fresh and beautiful no matter what the weather is. With the harsh cold winter months (or hot summery weather), we have to make sure our skin receives that tender loving care at all times, to prevent drying, flakiness and even irritation. And this post will tell you about some of the best products out there you can get your hands on, in the form of facial toners or mists! A must-have not only during the scorching heat of summer but also the freezing cold of winter.

So, are you ready to meet the awesome bloggers and their favourite toners and/or mists? Let me start this beauty tour and share one of my must-haves in my handbag!

Enjoy!

If you like to read which products every blogger was pointing out, and who exactly those bloggers are, you can find it on Donah’s blog:

The other not less exciting thing is, that i became a sponsor of a very cool fashion blogger. Nia believes, that fashion is art and get’s her inspiration from fashion events & blogs and her daily life.
It feels really good to be represented a little bit on her blog and getting also some creative inspiration. If some of Nia’s reader find my blog interesting and leave me their feedback, i’d be most delighted!

Hope you are all doing well this week and can share my happiness today, my Beauties.
Stay motivated. I’m waiting for your inspiring blog posts! 🙂
