♥ Confessions of a Beauty Blogger TAG ♥

Hello my Beauties!!

Are you enjoying your weekend so far? I really hope you are up to something fun today. 🙂

I recently found this fun tag on Charlie’s blog: Dolled up Beauty and enjoyed it so much, that i decided to go ahead and do it too, hoping that some of you might enjoy another tag as well 🙂
I think it’s always nice to know what motivates this particular beauty blogger to write and get creative. So let’s start the journey.
Beauty expression by Luchessa1. How many hours a week do you spend writing/editing posts?

It actually really depends on how many posts a week i’m doing and what kind of posts they are. Some just naturally take more time for research and editing than others. It variates from one hour to 2,5h. But overall i would say it’s about 20 hours a week.

2. Are you a spender or a saver?

I think i have mentioned that before, but i’m kind of both. With high-end products i will usually think very carefully if i really want to spend that amount and if it’s really worth the price. So i look for reviews and opinions, swatches ect and than i decide. But with drugstore products i tend to be rather “brave”. If you know what i mean.

3. When is it easiest for you to blog?

Most of the times it’s around late afternoon or early evenings when i write my posts. During the night i tend to go over comments and answer your questions and requests.

4. What makes writing behind a computer easier?

The modern world makes it really easy to be your own boss and pick your own time & mood to be creative. That’s what i like about being a beauty blogger.

5. What’s your worst makeup/hair habit?

Honestly, i can’t think of any big bad beauty related habits. I don’t bite my nails, i don’t have split ends, i dont use hair curling or straightening tools, i take my makeup off every night, i moisturize my skin… sorry, but there is nothing i would consider a bad makeup/hair habit.

6. Whats your one quote I wish the world would live by?

Actually i have a few quotes that i really like, but i think most suitable for now would be: “Don’t judge, and you won’t be judged.”

 7. How long do you spend getting ready everyday?

Most of the times i get ready in 30 minutes in the morning. If i have more time and don’t have to rush – i do more beautifying steps and enjoy an hour getting ready. But the key word is: enjoying! I would turn my radio louder, dance around, maybe even sing and create some not so daily eye looks or try out a lipstick combination ect. But during early morning you know how it is – just the absolutely necessary.

8. What’s my favourite video on youtube?

This is a really hard question for me, since i’m watching youtube videos on almost a daily basis since 2006, when i opened my channel there. (I’m not doing youtube videos myself, i’m just a user).
Since that time, as you can possibly imagine i have followed a lot of different kind of youtubers. There is everything from beauty to comedy, over tv shows and how to channels.
So i don’t think i will be able to point one particular video out.

9. Who is the blogger that you read that deserves more subscribes than they have?

I would say everyone who i have ever mentioned and will be mentioning in my posts, since this is the whole idea of doing it – to expose those bloggers to the bigger public, so they would be noticed and read! There are certainly a few ppl who i admire for their blogging skills and they know who they are!! 😉

10. What’s the one thing you most excited about in the up and coming year?

I would love to see my blog rise and shine during 2013. I can’t say it’s my biggest challenge, but it’s definitely the one big thing i’m really excited about. 🙂

11. Whats your most awkward blogging moment:

I get these kind of moments every time i don’t understand how some html things or widgets work. I feel upset about myself, but on the other hand this is learning by doing process for me, as i have never been in contact with these things. I’m also very thankful for all the help different bloggers & wordpress gurus on twitter are offering to me.

12. How long does it take to prep a post?

Obviously if it’s kind of a review, i take my time to really test a products, at least for 4 – 6 weeks to really see how my skin reacts ect. But if i do a nail art post or swatches it doesn’t take long at all.

13. Are you wearing jeans/pants/skirt or pyjamas right now?

I have to admit, i’m a big pj’s lover. And still wondering why it’s not appropriated to wear these outside of the house. No i’m just kidding. But i would wear pj’s every evening, even before going to bed. 🙂 I just love the feeling of being cozy at home.

14. What are you most proud of in your life right now?

Did i mention my blog already?? It’s definitely one of THE best things that i decided to go with.

So that was it, my Beauties. Hope it was fun for you. Feel free to do this tag as well and let me know if you do!!

I’d like to tag just a few bloggers:

  1. So lucky you don’t have any bad beauty habits. I stopped biting my nails when I was in college. I don’t use many heat styling products on my hair. I’m great at using sunscreen daily, but don’t ask me if I remove my makeup every night. There will be at least one night at week I miss it. If I have one chip in my nails, I start “helping” it along. That’s why I carry nail polish remover packets in my purse. If I was always chipping away at a messed up manicure, I would kill my nails. That’s also the reason I change my polish every 2 days. I can’t abide a chip. I know it leads to terrible habits. Great post.

    • Interesting. I would rather go and repair the chipping nail by applying the base color polish & go over the a top coat – safes me at least 2 more days, especially if my days are busy. Try that next time. 🙂

  2. Really enjoyed reading this Luchessa! The two questions that got me really thinking are am I “A spender or saver” and my “Bad Beauty Habits.” I think as a beauty blogger you have to be both a spender and saver. You have to spend your own money to try out different products, but you also have to be really savvy about when and how much to spend, and also you must take time to hunt for really great bargains on the internet and in different shops. As for bad beauty habits, you’re lucky to have none! Perhaps my worst beauty habit is that I tend to give in to stress to easily. And stress is such a beauty spoiler. Lastly, blogging IS so much fun!!! But a lot of people don’t realize how much time and work (often, unpaid work) goes behind the scenes. But if a person is passionate about what they’re doing, as you seem to be, then the blog will inevitably be a success!! Cheers to that! xoxo

    • Thank you Kareen for taking your time & commenting on this. You are totally right about what’s going on “behind the scences”. But i guess most (beauty) blogger feel so motiated about wrriting and sharing their experience with their readers & fellow bloggers, that putting in that time & effort is something they do with happiness. 🙂
Please try to not getting stressed out so much & find some nice relaxing moments to just yourself to restore the energy. 🙂 :*

  3. Hi Luchessa. Really liked this post. It’s nice to read about other people’s blogging experiences. For me, taking and editing photos for a blog takes the longest. So nail polishes/ nail art posts are the hardest as it takes a while to get all the photos ready.

    • Thanks a lot for your comment 🙂
When it comes to swatches, i find it really hard sometimes to get the right light. Especially now in winter. Im seriously thinking about getting a day light fluorescent lamp or something like that.

  4. I love this, Luchessa! Thank you for thinking of me!! I would say that I’m becoming a spender (ahhh, I hate to admit that!) I used to be a saver, but there are so many blogs I love to read and so many great products out there that you almost feel an obligation to try them ALL, haha 🙂 My blogging resolution this year is to stop spending so much money! I like to blog in the early evening too. I feel like my brain is most creative then and in the early morning. My favorite quote to live by is, “Someone else is happy with less than what you have.” I think this quote really puts things into perspective and should make us all feel grateful and appreciative for what we have been given. Love this post & your blog, Luchessa! I’m sure 2013 is going to bring you a very successful blogging year! xo!
